Russian Wristwatches: Pocket Watches, Stop Watches, Deck Watches & Marine Chronometers
Russian Wristwatches by Juri Levenberg is a 96-page book about Russian watches. It focuses mainly on watches manufactured during the late twentieth century.
The book is a good resource for collectors interested in Russian watches from that era.
The book takes the form of a catalog, featuring photographs of several hundred Russian watches. Each photo is accompanied by a detailed, descriptive caption giving historical or technical information.
Most of the watches described in the book are from the 1980s and 1990s.
The author also provides brief historical information about the main Russian watch factories.
Author Juri Levenberg, based in Germany, has been an avid collector of Russian timepieces since 1988. Mr. Levenberg clearly has a great love for, and knowledge of, Russian watches. "Nothing is more annoying and boring than owning a watch and not knowing its historical background and relevance," writes Levenberg.
Levenberg's Russian Wristwatches, published in 1995 by Schiffer Publishing, is available at Amazon.com. The price is $19.95.
